2019 for the graphics industry machinery sector closed with a recovery in order collection. In the fourth quarter of 2019, this index registered an increase of 24.6% compared to the same period of the previous year. The result is determined by growth on foreign markets (+ 36.3%), while on the domestic market order intake was negative (-3.6%).
Still in the fourth quarter, the positive outlook contrasts with the negative result recorded by the turnover. The drop, equal to -13.5% compared to the same period of the previous year, weighs on the final balance of the whole year, bringing the sector to a – 1.6%.
Broadening its gaze to the entire national economy, the CSC (Confindustria Study Center) Rapid Survey shows a recovery in industrial production (+ 1%) in January, after the drop in December (-1.1%). A specific infographic illustrates an analysis of the new scenario now that Brexit is underway.
