The excellences of European flexo printing were awarded during an international evening that saw the Italian packaging companies stand out among the highest steps of the podium and once again emphasized the winning footprint of the supply chain synergies between printers, prepress and brand owners.
About 370 professionals from the European flexographic industry attended the award ceremony of the FTA Europe Diamond Awards, held in Milan on 5 May in conjunction with the Ipack Ima and Print4All fairs.
12 categories in competition, referring to as many market segments, which saw the awarding of 36 companies from different European countries, an international category with awards from companies from Brazil, USA and Australia and the Best in Show, the prize awarded to the ‘company chosen by the jury as the best regardless of the reference category.
Also present were the main Associations belonging to FTA EUROPE such as ATIF (Italy), ATEF (Spain), ATF (France), EFTA BENELUX and FIA UK.
During the gala evening, Italian companies took the lion’s share, with 12 companies taking home 5 golds, 3 silvers and 4 bronzes and winning the Best in Show. In detail, the highest step of the podium was conquered for Italy by:
- Formbags, in the Flexo Print on Paper, Medium Web category;
- Grafiche Pradella, in the Flexo Print on Film and Labels – UV Ink Narrow Web category;
- BPK Packaging for Flexo Print on Film Laminated;
- Trevikart Progest Group for Corrugated Post Print, Coated;
- Scatolificio Ceriana for Corrugated Post Print, Uncoated;
Scatolificio Ceriana was also awarded the Best in Show as the best work of this edition.
A breath away from the top step of the podium, among the second classified Italian companies are Effegidi, Flex Packaging Al and Minova Labels. Finally, there are four excellent third places also for Cartotecnica Postumia, Imball Center, Scatolificio Ondulkart and Tonutti Tecniche Grafiche.

The appointment is for the next event, in two years, on the occasion of Drupa: Italian companies that want to try their hand and take up the challenge can do so by applying for the Bestinflexo 2022, which will take place in Bologna on November 15th.
