Italian converter of flexible packaging based in Calvi (Benevento), Maca has always used high-definition flexo technology, first of all, to get a high quality printed product, but also increased flexibility and reduced costs.
With the introduction of the REVO project and Gidue’s Digital Automation, the company has recently added the mid-web in line series for short runs, thus providing its customers an add-on service.
Fast and effective response times, great graphic and production flexibility, repeatability of results: This is what M5 REVO ensures (630 mm wide, 9 printing units, REVO for the extension of the range of colors during the printing process and Gidue Digital Automation for digitizing the entire flexographic printing process).
Changeover times. According to the operators, the concept to which the printing system responds (extreme standardization combined with the digitization of the flexographic process) is destined to radically change flexible packaging and label production.
The REVO technology was in fact created as a joint project of 8 leading companies in the sector (Adare, Apex, Avt, Dupont, Esko, Flint, Gidue, UPM Raflatac), cooperating to drive the flexo toward a new world of “digital”, pointing to short start-up times and total flexibility. The technology uses UV flexo inks, full digital automation “from pre-press to printing” and the extension of the colors range, enabling most of the Pantone colors to be attained without the need to replace the anilox or inks.
Other benefits ensured? The predictability and reproducibility of the printing results; the dramatic reduction in time and start-up waste; total graphic flexibility to reproduce unlimited colors on the same job, that can be changed in minutes, without manual intervention from the operator.
