Acimga becomes a partner of SinoCorrugated 2023 in the new concept WEPACK – World Expo of Packaging Industry, which brings the global packaging, printing and converting supply chain to the exhibition in Shanghai, from 12 to 14 July. Mission: to give visibility to the Italian industry, at the Acimga stand and with a speech at the World Corrugated Forum.
SinoCorrugated is the leading exhibition in the Asian market dedicated to corrugated cardboard. The 2023 edition (Shanghai, 12-14 July) is part of the new WEPACK – World Expo of Packaging Industry, created to unite the global packaging supply chain under one roof. WEPACK, in fact, includes 7 thematic exhibitions – SinoCorrugated, SinoFoldingCarton, PACKCON, SinoPaper, DPrint, Sino FlexPack, Food Pack & Tech – which include areas dedicated to converting and printing.
Compared to the first SinoCorrugated in 2001, which brought together some 4,300 visitors and 170 exhibitors on an exhibition area of 7,700 sqm, WEPACK 2023 will occupy over 100,000 sqm, with more than 1,200 exhibitors and an expected 120,000 high-profile business visitors. Complementary events will include the World Corrugated Awards to industry excellence and the World Corrugated Forum with contributions from international associations.
SinoCorrugated and Print4All
In this context, the partnership signed by Acimga is understandable both for the role of the Italian industry in the international context and for the attention paid to corrugated by the national association of machine manufacturers.
The Gruppo Italiano Cartone Ondulato by Acimga, created at the end of 2020, brings together the most important industries in the sector and works to promote them, especially in the main target markets – the Americas and Asia. As an official partner of the event, in Shanghai Acimga is therefore organising a mission that includes the presidium of the exhibition with a stand and the official report of Italy on trends and market data during the World Corrugated Forum.
The collaboration between Acimga and SinoCorrugated is part of a broader promotional project related to Print4All 2025, where corrugated board will be a strategic pillar, supported by a fast-growing demand and a supplier industry of undisputed relevance.
Cardboard Made in Italy
In fact, Italy is Europe’s second largest producer of corrugated cardboard, with 8 billion square meters produced in 2022 and a turnover of over 4 billion euros. It also tops the global ranking of exporting countries for corrugated cardboard production, with exports doubling in the last 10 years (over 100 million euros in 2022) and a forecast of constant growth between now and 2026. Also in quality: spurred on by the drive for innovation in production processes, Italian machinery manufacturers have taken the Made in Italy sector to levels of excellence.
