Predictive maintenance with Industry 4.0 tools: the new service illustrated during last Flexo Day by the great manufacturer of printing and converting machines. Who will present it to the world during drupa 2020.
The predictive maintenance with Industry 4.0 tools was the subject of the report held by Uteco at the last Flexo Day and will be one of the great printing and converting machine manufacturer’s focus points at the next drupa. Among other things, it took the form of a system for collecting and analyzing data derived from remote monitoring of the installed machine park, created thanks to the support of San Marco Informatica SpA and the involvement of the various competence centers.
Thanks to the development of a dedicated software and an encrypted binary transmission mode, this system receives and analyzes data from the company MES (manufacturing execuion system) and from the sensors installed on the machines, to transform them into information that can be immediately used for analysis and plant management.
Following the introductions by Stefano Russo, COO of the Uteco Group, and Michele Romano, director of the Sanmarco Informatica Academy, the subject was broached by Davide Valbusa, a graduate in electrical engineering specialised in automation, who for some years now has been working on new technologies applied to the print machines of the Verona-based group.
In his speech entitled “The digital factory – industrial IOT and the competitiveness of companies”, Valbusa recalled the traits of the last revolution in the IIOT (industrial Internet of things) field and the related fields of application, and then got to the heart of the topic. «Data analysis through sophisticated algorithms gives us the opportunity to carry out predictive maintenance of the systems, that is, to anticipate breakages and damage, preventing expensive machine downtimes and the related productivity and delivery problems», underlined the expert. Who also anticipated: «At the Uteco stand at drupa 2020 (Hall 10 B20) we will present our offer of “centralized dashboarding “and “instant intelligence” in a clear, simple and direct way. Target: allow even the most reluctant visitors to approach the great theme of Industry 4.0 and familiarize operators with new modern keywords such as MES, IIOT systems, business intelligence, algorithms and workflows».
