Lombardi Converting Machinery has hosted an event to showcase its latest developments in packaging production, including an updated version of its mid web Invicta 630 flexo press intended for flexible packaging.

Invicta 630 is an 8-color, full servo mid web flexo press for flexible packaging. The updated press features a new design and way of working. It is available with web widths of 450-750mm and can run at up to 200m/min. It is a sleeve-based flexo press and is 100 percent gearless. Sleeve change is entirely automatic and conducted at the push of a button. This causes the sleeve cylinder to move outwards and the housing to open, giving the operator access to simply remove the sleeve and replace it. After housing the new sleeve, this closes and the cylinder returns to position. Other features include auto pre-register and register. Print quality is automatically controlled by Grafikontrol’s Quality Control system.

The Lombardi Invicta 630 is able to handle a variety of substrates, including BOPP, PVC, PE, PET, paper, adhesive paper, thermal paper, cardboard and laminated materials.

Invicta 630 can also be converted into a pressure-sensitive label machine, with the insertion of die-cutting and waste recovery.

An 8-color, 650mm-wide Invicta 630 was presented to the market at a recent week-long in-house event hosted by the Italy-based manufacturer. A Lombardi Synchroline 430 flexo press was also shown here, configured with overlapping system for booklet labels up to four layers.

A 6-color Lombardi Invicta 630 was presented at Labelexpo Europe 2017. Lombardi has promised to introduce a ‘completely new project’ in time for Labelexpo Europe 2019.
