Omet ends 2013, the year of its 50th anniversary, by looking ahead, which is to say by training young people and consolidating the partnerships that enable remaining always at the height of technological sophistication.
It was the group’s managing director, Antonio Bartesaghi, who personally gave out the ten residential study scholarships for children of the concern’s employees that have distinguished themselves for scholastic merit in secondary school or university.
Bartesaghi thus highlighted the importance of an initiative implemented last year in order to foster fundamental values such as dedication and the ability to face challenges, but also because, the entrepreneur states, «we all know that the way to growth for concerns depends on their capacity for constantly obtaining maximum results, for which worthy collaborators are indispensable […] the same commitment which we have recognized and awarded in these young people, in the hope that it may contribute to their future development».
Of the many initiatives taken on by the historic builder of printing and converting machinery, worthy mentions would include renewal of a more than ten year old collaboration with Asahi Photoproducts, which, for Labelexpo Europe 2013, printed on the Xflex X4 of its Italian partner its super high performance AWP clichés (Asahi Water Washable Plates).
AWPs, in fact, are the first universal flexo photopolymer, suitable for any ink type, developed with a water-based and solventless solution. It guarantees high print quality thanks to “ink pinning”, a technique which enables transferring all ink captured by the polymer onto the print support, reducing waste, preventing excess ink buildup on the plate surface and consequently cutting machine stops for cleaning.
