Durst chooses Brussels as the launch pad for its new Tau 330 E: a low budget digital UV inkjet press for which some high pigment inks have been designed ad hoc, featuring high yield and enabling reduced consumption.
The machine is a single pass system designed for small and medium sized label converters, with 200 or 330 mm print width. It prints with 4 or 5 colors at speeds up to 48 linear meters/min in standard mode (720 x 360 dpi) or HD print mode (720 x 1260 dpi).
The concern will also present at the Labelexpo new modules for industrial scale production, including a jumbo unwinder/rewinder for 1,000 mm rolls or lengths of 4,000 m, for materials up to 350 mm thick. Use of these systems minimizes changeovers during long runs, and they are equipped with motorized roll loading/unloading, built-in roll lifter and servo-drive to feed loaded material in both directions.
Among equipment produced by third parties that integrate the Tau 330’s modular design, enhancing its functions, the following will appear at the fair:
• offers by Printum (buffers, web turning bar, registered feeding of pre-printed web, delam and relam, flexo printing stations, dispensers, semi-rotary die-cutters with slitting unit, semi-automatic turret rewinders);
• the LFS 330 finishing system by Spartanics, equipped with a 1000 watt laser for large productions, automatic job changeover for managing multiple jobs in a single run, in such a way guaranteeing a completely digital workflow;
• Nikka’s high resolution video inspection system for automatic defect detection during the printing process;
• the second generation of Tau low migration UV inks GEN2, presented alongside Sunjet (Sun Chemical’s inkjet division) for printing on packaging for food contact, reformulated to comply with European and Swiss guidelines.
