Since receiving its European debut at Labelexpo in 2019, Mark Andy has enjoyed strong demand for its new Evolution narrow web press line. Despite the recent difficulties, sales currently number 50 with presses installed in 16 different countries including three in Ireland alone.
The Evolution is a scalable full servo flexo press available in 330mm (13”) and 430mm (17”) web widths. Designed to offer full-function narrow web printing on a design that can be upgraded when the business needs to grow or change, its operator friendly and flexible production capability is combined with minimal waste levels and very quick job changeovers.
According to Mark Andy sales manager, Phil Baldwin: “More than half of the Evolution presses installed have the 330mm web width, eight flexo print stations, web turn bars, delam/relam and cold foil – so converters are enjoying the benefits of being able to spec down or up according to their needs.”
Introduced to complement Mark Andy’s best-selling Performance flexo presses, of which leading Italian converter Drorys Packlist was a recent customer, the Evolution allows label converters to choose a press that suits their own specific requirements safe in the knowledge that it can be easily re-specified as product demand changes.
With a modular design, the Evolution makes the subsequent retrofit of various added-value options very easy, and its independent inking and impression, substrate responsive tension control, and robust die cutting options ensure high quality labels coupled with high levels of productivity.
The Evolution series is capable of handling materials from 12 to 305 microns at speeds up to 230m/min with a maximum repeat of 610mm. As Baldwin concluded: “A Mark Andy Evolution is the press that grows with your business!”
